Premium lot of rough facet-grade blue sapphire, ideal for gemstone cutting and jewellery production. These stones show attractive blue colour with clarity ranging from SI to VVS, offering excellent potential for faceting.
Heat treatment enhances colour and clarity, a standard and accepted practice in the sapphire trade. Perfect for cutters, dealers, and collectors looking for September birthstone material in rough form.
Ideal for crafting rings, pendants, and fine jewellery pieces after cutting and polishing.

How many facets does a sapphire have?

Standard Round Brilliant Cut: Usually has 57 or 58 facets (including the cutlet). This is the most common cut for maximising brilliance.
Oval, Cushion, or Emerald Cuts: Typically have 50 to 70 facets, depending on the design.
Step Cuts (Emerald Cut): Have fewer facets, usually 40 to 50, focusing more on clarity than sparkle.
Custom Precision Cuts: Can have 70+ facets to enhance brilliance, especially in high-clarity rough like SI to VVS material.
Facet-grade rough sapphire is specifically chosen because its clarity and structure allow cutters to create multiple precise facets, improving light reflection, brilliance, and overall gemstone value.
